Dr. Darlene Gou is a native Texan. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Texas at Austin, where she completed dual degrees in Sociology and Human Biology.

She then taught high school science for three years in Brooklyn, New York through Teach for America. During this time she received her Master’s of Science in Teaching from Fordham University.

Dr. Gou received her medical degree from the UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society as a junior medical student. Following an internship at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, she completed her residency training at UT Southwestern.

Dr. Gou has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in journals and medical textbooks, including the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) Dermatology, and Dermatologic Surgery. Her clinical interests include patient education, skin cancer detection, acne, eczema, neuromodulators, and filler agents. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, long-distance running, rock climbing, cooking, and spending time with her husband Eric and son Luka.
